Tiger’s Shock Bears, Climb to #2

The nation’s most efficient shooter, Mizzou’s Ricardo Rattliffe scored a career high 29 points as the Tigers beat #3 Baylor by 1 point.  The game wasn’t as close as the score indicates, as Baylor’s Brady Heslip hit a meaningless 3 pointer as time expired.  Ratliffe earned player of the week awards from both the Big 12 Conference and the National Media after his outstanding effort, helping the Tigers climb to #2 in both the USA Today and AP national polls.  Phil Pressey also had an outstanding game, scoring 18 points, while notching 7 assists and 6 steals.  Quincy Miller led all scorers with 29, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the the disappearance of Sophomore star Perry Jones, who played in the game, but failed to have any impact.

#5 Tigers Beat Aggies, Set Up Huge Game in Waco

Michael Dixon scored 18 points and helped ignite a 17-0 first-half run as No. 5 Missouri beat Texas A&M 70-51 on Monday, snapping an eight-game losing streak to the Aggies. Denmon added 16 points and nine rebounds for Missouri, which leads the Big 12 in scoring offense (83.9) and field goal percentage (51.2).  Ricardo Rattliffe notched 17 points as well, keeping his reign as the nation’s leader in field goal percentage (77).  Next up for the Tigers is a HUGE conference matchup in Waco as the #5 Tigers travel to take on #3 Baylor. A Tiger win would put the team in great shape for a Conference Title, and most likely secure the #2 spot in the polls next week.

Tigers Rebound, Notch Important Road Win

Matt Pressey led six players in double figures with 14 points and the Tigers got past Iowa State 76-69 on Wednesday night. Ricardo Rattliffe and Phil Pressey each added 12 points, as Mizzou beat the Cyclones for their first conference road win.  Steve Moore had arguably the best game of his career, notching 10 points and 9 boards as foul trouble impacted the Tigers for most of the 2nd half.  By the end of the game, the Tigers only had 5 players after both Moore and English fouled out.  Iowa State’s Scott Chistopherson led all scorers with 19 points, including a half court buzzer beater to end the first half. Come out and support the Tigers on Saturday and Black Out Mizzou Arena for the game against Texas at Noon.
